House of the Future 2025 was an international competition focused on the design of a dwelling for the United Arab Emirates. The challenge was to reinterpret the traditions of the Emirati house through ideas and influences drawn from different cultures and countries.

In our, proposal, brick was conceived as a unifying element. Used in construction throughout the world, it is a material capable of adapting to a wide range of climates and, despite its long history, it still responds to many of the demands of sustainable architecture.

Deep overhangs provide shade to all sun-exposed openings, while a sequence of intermediate and semi-shaded spaces mediates between indoors and outdoors. Exterior areas preserve the privacy that characterizes traditional Emirati houses, while water features and vegetation create a microclimate reminiscent of an oasis, bringing a sense of calm and refuge to everyday life.
